Then & Now —
Our History
What started out as a maker of quality components for the old-school gaming industry has grown to become a global leader in advanced automation technology and robotics solutions for complex industries.
Explore our storied history and how our entrepreneurial spirit continues today.
1991
Thomas Doyle founded QComp in Appleton, Wisconsin, starting with circuit boards used in pinball machines. From there, the QComp team took their innovative spirit and developed the “black box” used in resurfacing paper machine rolls, expanding to design drive systems for the paper goods industry to control numerous functions with rolls and automation.
1997
QComp builds a new facility in the Greenville Industrial Park to accommodate additional automation capabilities.
1998
QComp broadened its scope to include robotics for glass manufacturers, consumer goods, the food industry, and more. The rapid expansion of robotics capabilities required the construction of an addition to the building, nearly doubling its size.
2004 - 2010
Continuing to heavily focus on robotics, QComp enters the realm of automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
2018
QComp becomes 100% employee-owned and a part of the OwnersEdge family.
2019
QComp breaks ground on a 10,000-square-foot addition to its production facility in Greenville, WI. The expansion is in response to an increase in demand for its robotic automation systems in the United States and Canada from new and existing clients.
2021
QComp breaks ground on a second large expansion to its production facility in Greenville, WI.
2021 - Present
QComp continues to be a leader in highly complex robotics automation, partnering with top brands and solidifying its status as a world-class material-handling automation innovator.
