Applications Engineer

Our company, which is based in Greenville, provides robotic packaging systems, material handling systems and automation line integration for clients in the flat glass, solar, consumer products, food, pharmaceutical, plastics, paper, and metals industries.
We have an excellent opportunity for an individual to join the QComp team as an Applications Engineer.
In this role, you will be tasked with helping our sales staff conceptualize robotic automation opportunities. Utilizing QComp’s vast repertoire of past solutions as a base and creating new concepts to meet our customer’s automation needs. Gathering technical information to develop a concept, estimate the costs and prepare a proposal for sales to present to the customer.

Qualifications & Experience You Bring…
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or related degree
- High degree of mechanical aptitude, creative thinker, able to visualize solutions
- 1 to 5 years of experience in technical concepts or automation components - preferred
- Familiarity with Robotic Automation – preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD Mechanical
- Experience with AutoDesk Inventor a plus

- Maintaining a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress

- Creating a baseline project schedule and timeline with input from necessary teams

Qualifications & Experience You Bring…
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years Project Management Experience
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills - verbal, written and listening
- Strong customer focus – maintaining awareness of and seeking to meet the needs and wants of the customer
- High attention to detail with good follow-through
- Highly adaptable – responding effectively to changes in situation or information
- Team player with ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization

Installation Technician

In this role, you will be involved with the mechanical assembly and wiring of customer robotic machinery and industrial control panels, control stations and related components in the shop and at the end customer facility.

- Preparing systems for power up; basic I/O checks, verifying pneumatic and mechanical completion of the system
- Performing quality checks to meet industry standards

- Interfacing with our Engineers to provide a smooth handoff at installation
- Working closely with and communicating with all the talent that makes up the QComp team
