Applications Engineer

QComp Technologies is a robotic systems integrator in the Fox Valley that serves clients throughout the United States and Canada. Our company, which is based in Greenville, provides robotic packaging systems, material handling systems and automation line integration for clients in the flat glass, solar, consumer products, food, pharmaceutical, plastics, paper, and metals industries.

We have an excellent opportunity for an individual to join the QComp team as an Applications Engineer. 

In this role, you will be tasked with helping our sales staff conceptualize robotic automation opportunities. Utilizing QComp’s vast repertoire of past solutions as a base and creating new concepts to meet our customer’s automation needs. Gathering technical information to develop a concept, estimate the costs and prepare a proposal for sales to present to the customer.

  • Preparing quotes and proposals for automation solutions for our customers to improve their competitive advantage
  • Helping customers find solutions to improve their employees work environment  
  • Helping our sales staff to concept robotic application solutions 
  • Assisting project engineers with concepts and transferring customer knowledge to the project team during the project process
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the proposal and project process

Qualifications & Experience You Bring…

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or related degree
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude, creative thinker, able to visualize solutions
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in technical concepts or automation components - preferred
  • Familiarity with Robotic Automation – preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD Mechanical
  • Experience with AutoDesk Inventor a plus

Project Manager

You can contribute and have an impact by...

  • Managing assigned projects, with a focus on customer satisfaction, profitability, and timely completion
  • Maintaining a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Communicating changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs
  • Proactively conducting customer check-ins and facilitating meetings to communicate progress and answer questions
  • Creating a baseline project schedule and timeline with input from necessary teams 
  • Determining what resources are required to deliver project and allocating time and adding to schedule based on team capacity

Qualifications & Experience You Bring…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years Project Management Experience 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills - verbal, written and listening
  • Strong customer focus – maintaining awareness of and seeking to meet the needs and wants of the customer
  • High attention to detail with good follow-through
  • Highly adaptable – responding effectively to changes in situation or information 
  • Team player with ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing - Microsoft Office and common project management software tools
  • 2-3 years automation industry experience a plus
